information about deleting your data from markus
how to delete your data
delete campaigns:
- log in to your markus account
- navigate to the campaign you want to delete
- click the settings or menu icon
- select "delete campaign"
- confirm the deletion when prompted
delete contacts:
- go to your campaign's contact list
- select the contacts you want to remove
- click "delete selected"
- confirm the deletion
this will permanently delete the selected data and associated email history.
to delete your entire account and all associated data, please contact us:
- send an email to josh@jclvsh.art
- include "account deletion request" in the subject line
- provide the email address associated with your account
- we will verify your identity and process your request
account deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days.
self-service: you can also delete your account directly from your account settings.
what data is deleted
when you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- account information (email, name, profile data)
- all campaigns and campaign settings
- all contacts and contact information
- email templates and AI-generated content
- email sending history and engagement data
- conversation threads and replies
- analytics and reporting data
- billing and subscription information (except as required by law)
note: emails that have already been sent to recipients cannot be recalled. those emails exist in the recipients' inboxes and are beyond our control.
data retention
we may retain certain data for a limited period after deletion for the following purposes:
- compliance with legal obligations (tax records, etc.)
- fraud prevention and security
- dispute resolution
- backup systems (automatically purged within 30 days)
third-party data
some of your data may have been shared with third-party services during your use of markus:
- SendGrid: email delivery logs may be retained according to their data retention policies
- Anthropic: data sent for AI processing is subject to Anthropic's data handling policies
- Stripe: payment information is managed by Stripe according to their privacy policy
you may need to contact these providers directly for data deletion requests under their policies.
